In his presentation he will cover the latest in website development, search engine optimization, technologically advanced clerking software, live online bidding procedures along with EBay style pre-bidding software for your web sites.

ANTIQUES AT AUCTION
Presented by Julie Robinson

Julie P. Robinson received her training in antiques at the Institute for the Study of Antiques & Collectibles in Emmaus, PA under the direction of noted antiques columnist Harry Rinker. She is the author of two books on Celluloid plastics and is the advisor for both Schroder's and Warman's Antique Price Guides on plastics, mourning jewelry and Soap Hollow furniture. Since 1995 she has been a contributing writer to Antique Week Newspaper of Knightstown, IN and currently writes a monthly column called Collection Reflections for the Plattsburgh Press Republican. In 2009 she opened The Red Barn Antiques & Artisan Gallery in Upper Jay, NY, a multi dealer shop that features antiques, mid 20th century collectibles and high quality local artisan goods - the seasonal business promotes awareness and education by offering free monthly lectures on various topics of antiques. She is married to Terry Robards, career journalist and former NY Times Wine Columnist; they make their home in the heart of the Adirondack Mountains in Upper Jay, NY.


Julies talk will be a multi faceted Triple A Lecture. It will cover Antiques, Auctions and Auctioneers. She will bring in how the changing world of technology is effecting today's markets. She will also talk about the kinds of Auctioneers writers like her love to work with and also talk about Antique Week and how her job has changed in last 15 years due to technology.

Current Overview of the Appraisal Industry
Presented by Certified Appraiser Duane DeLair, CES, CAGA. GPPA

Duane has been in the Antique field for over 30 years, owning several successful Antique Shops. He has been a Certified Appraiser for the past 10 years. He has appeared on the Antique Road Show in 2003, Channel 12, Rochester, also the PBS Antique Road Show from 2003 - 2005. He has worked for the Bank of New York as an Appraiser, Trust Companies and a host of Attorneys. He currently works with his wife, June, together they own and operate Constableville Auction Hall and Appraisal Services, Constableville, NY Topics to be covered in Duane’s presentation will include:

 1) Defining the clients needs;
 2) Working with the Estate Attorneys
 3) The Appraisal Report
 4) IRS Agents and the Court system
 5) Laws governing the Appraiser and Property;
 6) How to generate business from Appraisal work
